Are you an animal lover? How about cats?
Many people are cat owners. They are small so they are easy to take care of. They are clean as long as you provide a good litter box. They are affectionate and will entertain themselves for hours with just a ball of string. They get along with other animals very well provided they have enough exposure.
Cats have been around for a long time. There are many breeds. Some are of different body structure and some have different coats. Some even have different temperament.
One very special breed is the Bengal Cat. They are not what the name, and their look implies. They are not related to the Bengal Tiger. These lovely creatures are a cross between an Asian leopard cat and a domestic breed.
Bengals do not make much of a sound. The sound they do make is much like a barking noise.
They are sleek and trim and can weight close to fifteen pounds. They have a beautiful pelt that reminds you of their namesake. It has spots and stripes.
Bengal cats were first breed in the 1960. The result was the features of the leopard and the behavior of a domestic.
How do you raise a Bengal Cat?
First consideration is the cost. These cats can cost as little as a couple hundred dollars and as much as several thousand.
Second, do you want a kitten or a full-grown cat?
Some breeder will recommend that you get a full-grown cat because they have had all their shots and have been spayed or neutered.
Breeders must keep their Bengals with their mother for about nine weeks to ensure adjustment.
When choosing, you want one that is active, friendly, and alert. Make sure the eyes are clear and bright. Ensure the nose is damp and tidy, and the mouth bright pink.
Bengals especially love high places and water. That is right, a cat that loves water. If you have owned cats before that is just very interesting.
Make sure you keep your Bengal indoors. They are safer that way. In addition, imagine someone stealing your costly investment.
Feed your Bengal only dry or moist food. Do not feed table scraps or give milk, or supplements.
Make sure you handle this kitten gently and with all the love you can muster and it will turn into a lovely pet that you can enjoy for years to come.
